Herman Widjaja is the Senior Vice President & Chief Technology Officer at Tokopedia, overseeing the overall Tokopedia’s technology and data office. Besides his role at Tokopedia, Herman is also the CEO of Semangat Digital Bangsa (SDB), a financial technology company that provides alternative credit scoring from e-commerce data sources.
Passionate about growing and globalizing the Indonesian technology community, Herman is also contributing to Tokopedia Academy, a learning ground for the future digital talents in Indonesia by Tokopedia.
Prior to Tokopedia, Herman led technology teams at Google, Facebook, Amazon, and Microsoft. He currently holds eight US/international-issued patents, has four patents pending approval, and has written four industry publications.

From 2000-2010, JJ worked as a corporate governance (CG) advocate and regulator. He was one of the pioneers of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) where he served in various capacities including as President & CEO. He was also the first VP-CG and Chief Risk Officer of the Philippine Stock Exchange where authored many of the PSE’s CG Rules, most notable of which is the CG Rules for Publicly-Listed Companies. From 2010, JJ worked on “creating, capturing and sustaining value” through developing sound strategies (mostly on international expansion/growth) and designing & implementing the respective strategy execution systems, in various organizations–mostly family and state-owned corporations-around Southeast Asia. This was in his capacity as Principal & Head of Southeast Asia of Palladium Group, the strategy execution consulting firm founded by “Balanced Scorecard” developers Robert Kaplan & David Norton; as well as a consultant to the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group where the engagements involved making IFC-investee companies “investor ready” for either an IPO or the entry of strategic investor.

Huan Yang is the Chief Technology Officer of GudangAda, an Indonesian B2B e-commerce company in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry. In his current role, Huan Yang oversees GudangAda’s technology policies and procedures to further enhance its products and services to meet customer needs. A seasoned technologist, he has about 13 years of experience in software engineering and management and has worked with some of the world’s leading global technology conglomerates including Google, Facebook, Uber and Grab. Before joining GudangAda, Huan Yang was the Head of Engineering of GrabFood Merchant and Growth at Grab Holdings Inc, a ride-hailing decacorn in Southeast Asia. Based in Singapore, he managed a team of engineering managers in Singapore, Jakarta and Beijing to develop solutions to address the company’s critical food delivery challenges.He began his career as a software engineer in Google’s Ads team in China. He then moved to California, United States, where he joined Facebook as a software engineer and later stepped up as Engineering manager, when he was sent to London to build Facebook’s London office for about two years. After Facebook, he joined Uber in San Francisco as Engineering Manager, leading engineering efforts for Uber to expand in China and EMEA region. As a growth hacker, he has worked with multiple teams globally, namely in China, US, Britain and the South East Asia region. Prior to A&M, Mr. Dalai was part of the management team for Zegna, Greater China. Mr. Dalai helped manage a transformation of the brand over six years, involving a change in the brand’s market positioning and from franchisee to owned and operated model. Efforts helped increase sales by 3X over a five-year period, improve sell-through by 8 ppts, and increase inventory turns by one point.

Mr. Dalai was also Head of Merchandise Planning for Levi Strauss, Asia. He led the centralization of the region’s merchandising operations, building a regional team, developing capabilities, and partnering with country teams across Asia. Efforts helped increase sales by 10%, gross margin by 3 ppts., and inventory turns by half a point.
